Abstrakt
The development of the philosophic thought in Slovakia was influenced a great deal by works of Slovak natural scientists and propagators of science. One of them was also Ján A. Wagner, a physicist, mathematician, astronomer and philosopher who lived in the end of the 19th and in the beginning of the 20th century. In his works he raised many problems — the question of the substance of the Universe and of its origin, its structure, the question of the possibility of the cognizing of the reality. He tried to give answers to these questions, based on contemporary facts of natural science and so he was one of the first scientists in our country who pushed new methodologic and world-outlook orientation also in the sphere of Slovak philosophy.
