Abstract

Conceiving the world as order is certainly the basic condition of our life in general, giving at the same time meaning to all our existential activities, to all our efforts to understand our experience. Only an ordered world is an understandable one, in which we are able to live. Only in an ordered world our knowledge is possible. Social order means first of all the possibilty of coordinating our actions. The author's standpoint is, that there are only a few basic means of coordination, namely empathy, sharing of values, enforcement, exchange, and contract.
