Abstract

The paper delas with one of the most original current conceptions of power - that of M. Foucault as one of leading representatives of philosophical postmodernism. In its first part the problematic is outlined, to which Foucault’s conception of power is a response. The second part of the paper gives an analysis of the basic charactersitics of power and power relations, as defined by Foucault, sepecially in his Will to Knowledge. Through these characteristics the postmodern vision of order is offered (e. g. antiessentialist relational nature of order, its dynamics, variety and diffusion etc.).
