Abstract

In contemporary multicultural and radically pluralistic world the principle of tolerance becomes topical. The author sees the tolerance as the modus vivendi of modem pluralistic society, as an alternative to violence, based on the conception of human rights and closely related to democracy. Tolerance represents a rational way of communication. Procedural conception of tolerance leads to its understanding as a universal standard of human life.
