Abstract
Education as a process, involving the society as a whole, of psychological shaping of the new generations, in the course of the development of socialist society becomes a more and more important subject of scientific investigation and management. In the paper the author points out the necessity of solving several basic philosophical problems of education. He lays stress on solving philosophical questions of education on the basis of the Marxist-Leninist philosophical theory and methodology and he shows the inadequacy of non-Marxist philosophical schools to be used as general philosophical basis for studying questions of education. Up to now the issues of education have not become the subject of thorough and concentrated, specialized philosophical analysis within the framework of Marxist-Leninist philosophy. Underlying the necessity to solve philosophical problems of education the author suggests to use the term “the (Marxist-Leninist) philosophy of education“ to stand for the complex of these questions and their solutions, whereby he is conscious of the conventional character of the designation. Reasons are given for the necessity to keep strictly to methodological principles of Marxist-Leninist philosophy as both the condition for the Marxist-Leninist character of philosophy of education and a presupposition for attaining objective and true philosophical solutions.
