Philosophy of Life by Štefan Polakovič and Svätopluk Štúr

Abstract

Although the philosophies of life of the two philosophers shared many characteristics, there was a substantial difference between them: Polakovič was a catholic and a totalitarian, while Štúr was an atheist and a democrat. Their conceptions differed mainly in the assessment of the political oreintation in war times. Postwar and current events in Slovak republic show that they were right in some questions and mistaken in other.
