For the Class Approach in the Investigation of Social Consciousness

(Original title: Za triedny prístup ku skúmaniu spoločenského vedomia)
Filozofia, 39 (1984), 1, 36-46.
Type of work: Papers - Methodological and Methodical Issues in the Study of Social Consciousness
Publication language: Slovak
Abstract
In the paper the thought is developed that in investigating the processes of social consciousness we cannot do without the concept of the class antagonism in the period of building up the developed socialism either. The line of antagonism is drawn between the „anti-private property, antibourgeois, class collectivity“ and the bearers of private property tendencies who as a matter of fact occur in all socialist classes and groups. The research ought to concentrate on a closer mapping of this line in studying the facts of social consciousness, whereby the necessity is pointed out that Lenin’s scale of genetic forms of the class selfawareness, as worked out in the book What to do?, must be revived in the methodologic sense.
