Abstrakt

The paper consists of three parts. In the first one several sociological theories of time are briefly outlined. In the second and the substantial one the author's hypothesis of the three levels of social time is presented: those of historicity, temporality and transcendence. Social time is conceived as an organic unity of these three levels, permanently intertwinning and forming the background of human activity. In the third part the hypothesis is applied to the analysis of the phenomenon of love. The fourth part offers a brief conclusion: time pressure, characteristic of the temporal level, could enhance the coordination of human activity; the time-track of love, on the contrary, becomes a trap for those in love, making the coordination impossible.
