Abstract

The aim of the paper is to outline the fundamental characteristics and the developments of the religious and philosophical thinking of S. Š. Osuský, an influential Slovak theologian and philosopher of the first half of the 20th century. Osuský was concerned with the history of philosophy and especially Slovak philosophy. His ideas and conceptions were on the boundaries between philosophy and theology. He joined no particular intellectual stream, but he made many references to T. G. Masaryk, H. B írgson and Russian idealists and to the theologian E. Brunner.
