Abstract

The essay aims to show, taking as examples the works of famous existential philosophers, that the various conceptions of the authentic and the non-authentic had been an invariant issues of the existential thinking. This process ended in so called conference (reconciliation) of these originally antithetical attitudes. The price existentialism had to pay for this reconcialiation was its dissolution in postmodernism.
