Abstract

The paper deals with the understanding of finite being from the point of view of its unity with itself and with other finite beings, without which it, as a finite being, cannot exist. The finite being cannot be either fully interior (closed in itself), i. e. independent, neither fully exterior (dependent), for it would get dissolved. Various levels of interiority and exteriority are examined, first of all the most interior being of the nature - the human spirit, and the ontological categories which define it. A methodology of science, which does not recognize these categories, undergoes a categorial deformation leading to a one - dimensional conception of man and of human society.
