Abstract

Among the phenomena that make the social dimension of Heidegger’s ontology more accessible are Being-with, Dasein-with and Being-with-one-another. Due to certain limits of Heidegger’s analyses of these phenomena in Being and Time, he is often reproached for having poorly worked out the social aspect of Dasein or even for the social deficit of his fundamental project. The investigation of Heidegger’s sociality should be based on contemporary interpretations of this topic (J.-L. Nancy, T. Kisiel, H. L. Dreyfus, H.-H. Gander) as well as on his conception of everydayness. It requires, however, also a wider context of his analyses of resoluteness, temporality and the historical. Our aim is to focus on the interpretation of the Being-with-one- another, using the socio-complex: generation, community, and people. We will also show that these Heidegger’s reflections are not – as it is often argued – isolated and that they correspond with the analyses made in Being and Time and other texts from that period. In addition, we try to answer the question: Which of the interpretations of Being-with is relevant to the understanding of the Being-with-one-another in the form of generation, community, people?
