Abstract

The author discusses humanistic interpretation as one of the basic methodologies in social sciences. This intepretation is one form of scientific explanation and understanding of human action. It is based on the nomological, idealized assumption of rationality of the agent and on the reconstruction of his practical reasoning. The method of humanistic interpretation confronts critically the pre-conceptual understanding, which is based on a pure projection of the self in the deliberation and action of the agent.
