Abstract

In the paper the development of conceptions of a prominent Slovak theoretician, publicist and politician M. Hodža of the Czecho-Slovak issue in the period of first twenty years of this century is outlined. This period represents a second creative phase of Hodža’s theoretical activity. In the paper sources of ideas of Hodža’s conception of the „unified Czechoslovak nation (Masaryk’s realistic philosophy), his attitudes to Slovak as an independent literary language, which were significant indicators of Hodža’s conceptions of Czecho-Slovak relationship, are analyzed.
