Abstract

In the paper possibilities of modelling as a metod of the scientific research in biology are briefly summed up. This method is used also in solving concrete tasks for practice. It is cheap, quick and it allows for checking of more alternative possibilities of research than is the case with a real object. As a form of scientific prediction modelling makes it possible to predict the most effective interventions into a real biological object at the maximal time economy. It must be stressed, however, that modelling is one of the many methods of scientific cognition only, it cannot be overestimated in any case. The exploitation of a model is a limited knowledge of the real research object itself.
