Abstract

In the paper the author gives characteristics of the mechanistic interpretation of the world in the works of three representatives of Slovak natural science at the turn of the 18th and 19th century – M. Panki, W. Kempelen, Š. Schimko. She defines the standing of their interpretations of the world among the scientists of that time. Attention is focused on finding out the degree of originality and acceptance of their conceptions.
